Greetings Mighty Riverside High Trojans Class of 1970, 

By the grace of God, we have been allowed to enter into another year.  Hopefully, we can grasp this given opportunity to be a blessing to our community.  Helping others to help themselves. “Each one help one”.

I want to acknowledge and say thank you to our vice-president, Mrs. Patricia Burston-Walker, and our treasurer, Mrs. Paula Beck-Leath.  These officers have held fast and stood firm in busy and difficult times; I am very proud to serve with them.  During my time away, they have kept me informed and up to date.  You may not see me and I am saddened by this, but I am very involved in our activity planning and direction, and Pat has my full support.  You may have already noticed she is very capable to fill the position.

Our agenda planning, to include meetings, outings, and dinners are the result of keeping everyone involved.  Your attendance and participation is important; take a break and enjoy yourselves.  Certainly, I’m hoping that as many of our local classmates will participate in the activities planned at least six times during the year.

A survey has been sent out concerning the planning of our 50th Year Class Reunion, please take the time to reflect and respond.  Your input is valuable.

Sadly, we have seen a number of our classmates go the way of death, my condolences. Let us focus on the positive.  There are many of our classmates alive that are not participating.  Various reasons may apply, such as:  not aware of our meetings, out of town, not receiving email or text messages, and others simply choose not to be involved.  All of these can be addressed.  I am sure everyone knows at least one person that can be informed to get involved.  If they can be reached via personal contact, phone calls, Facebook, etc., let’s get the word out and give every RHS '70 Trojan an opportunity to get involved.

Let each of us reach one and reflect on this verse of our school alma mater:

Riverside the school of honor, yours will always be,

School of schools above all other, we do cherish thee!
